| Arts and Crafts | Arts Many of our tutors are practising Artisits and are able to bring that experience and Knowledge to their teaching.
This years programme contains new courses and tutors. For example in Uplands and Uckfield we are offering a Draw and Paint Course and an Art Workshop for all abilities with two new tutors.
There is also a two day Saturday workshop in Life Drawing at Uplands for those of you who are unable to get to courses during the week. We are pleased to offer a 5 week and two weekend Workshops in Printmaking where students can experience how to create unique hand finished prints in lino, block and monotyping.
Similarly, we are glad to be able to offer another Art History Course this year where students will learn about six 20th Century Artists in detail. | | v3.jpg) | ACRES will still be running our long-standing and successful 'Art Workshops' at Beacon. Here students can experience mediums such as acrylics, watercolours, pastels and drawing.
Draw and Paint Courses are also available this year at Heathfield and Uckfield where students will experience a foundation of drawing and painting with a variety of mediums and techniques that will enable them to progress.
Watercolour courses will continue to run at Uckfield for the absolute beginner, where students are made to feel welcome in a step by step guide to this popular medium.
There is also a Watercolour class in Frant for all abilities where our experienced tutor is able to deliver a personalised programme according to each students ability. | Crafts This year ACRES offers a diverse and expanding Crafts Programme. As in the Arts Programme, many of our Craft tutors are practising crafts people and are able to bring that experience and knowledge to their teaching.
In all our craft courses students learn hands-on practical skills from specialist tutors, which enable them to produce an object - whether this be beaded or silver earrings, a wooden sculpture, a cabinet, a patchwork quilt, curtains, pots, an upholstered stool, a Christmas wreath or a piece of Stained Glass for their homes. They can also learn skills to re-design a room in their home.
We now are able to offer new courses in Beaded Jewellery at Hailsham and Floristry at Uplands, both with new tutors. There are now 'Beginners' and 'Improvers' in Patchwork and Quilting, Pottery and Interior Design, so that students can choose a course best suited to their ability. We have added further courses in Jewellery and Stained glass due to high demand at Beacon (Crowborough) during the day.
We Will be running our popular, long-standing courses in Woodwork, Woodcarving, soft Furnishing and Upholstery at a wide variety of locations.
New to this year is a further development of Weekend Workshops, which include Floristry with both Christmas and Spring themes, Beaded Jewellery, Stained Glass, Embellished Patchwork and Creative Applique. | |
