Welcome to the ACRES website Vacancy for Clerical Assistant at Heathfield Part-Time Clerical Assistant at Heathfield Community College (Adult learning term time only – 33 weeks per year) Salary £12,678 -£13,336 pro rata, (pay award pending). The Adult College for Rural East Sussex is looking for a clerical assistant to act as the initial point of contact for all evening visitors to the Centre and to assist in the running of the Adult Learning Office at Heathfield during the evening. You will be required to work three evenings (Monday - Wednesday) 6.30pm – 9.45pm, (9.75 hours per week). Closing date for applications is 9.00am on Wednesday 10th Septemeber. Interviews for selected applicants are expected to take place on Monday, 15th September. Information Sessions If you would like some more information about our courses and would like to chat to someone first, then help is at hand! Administration staff wil be at local libraries soon. We will be at Heathfield Library on 2nd September 9.30am-12.30pm and at Hailsham Library on 5th September 10.00am-2.30pm. On 9th September staff will be at the Uckfield Library 10.00am-12.00 noon and again 2.00pm-4.00pm. We will then be at Crowborough Library on 11th September 9.30am-12.30pm. Current Events Art Exhibition ACRES is pleased to be able to advertise an exhibition at Wealden Wholefoods Co-operative in Wadhurst High Street, starting from the 21st July. The work being exhibited is by students attending Elizabeth Hunt's Watercolour Classes at Frant Village Hall. All art work is framed and priced should anyone be tempted, and is located in the cafe at the rear end of the shop. Works vary from landscapes, architecture and still lifes, to flowers and fish! A big thank you to Elizabeth for organising the exhibition and to the students who participated, the standard of work is impressive. Elizabeth's classes are running with ACRES on Fridays from 7th November. ACRES are also running a "Paint and Draw" class at Uplands Community College in Wadhurst from September. Go to our Course Search for more information. Recent events Wealden Quilt Show On the 11th April the Wealden Quilt Show exhibited at All Saints Church in Crowborough. Corinne Simpson, Acres Patchwork and Quilting Tutor showed some of her students work in the show. The work was beautifully presented and of an extremely high quality. The colours and craftmanship that went into the quilts were fantastic, it was very hard to believe they were just students. On behalf of Acres I would like to thank Corinne for the time and effort she put into organising the work, and to her students for allowing us to see their artwork.
