Welcome to the new autumn computing programme for 2015. In response to your requests, we are continuing to offer a diverse programme which will suit you whether your skills are at a very basic knowledge or if you want to build on existing skills. We are also offering business skills on our Mailmerge and Labels, Excel, Social Media and Bring your own iPad courses.

Computing for Beginners

This is for you if you have little or no knowledge of computing. Perhaps you have never used a mouse before or even switched a computer on. You will learn basic word processing, how to surf the internet and how to use email. These popular courses are offered at a variety of times, days and venues, so there should be a class to suit you.



Back by popular demand are our Excel One Day Workshops. These are offered at 'Introductory', 'Beginners', and 'Improvers' level, so if you have never used this software package before or you have some experience, there is an appropriate course for you.


Use Your Own iPad for Absolute Beginners

This course will introduce you to the basic functions of your iPad, and give you practical experience of using some of the key features of this innovative tablet.


Use Your Own iPad - Beginners

This course is for you if you want to learn how to use basic apps and to load new ones. You will be shown how to use your iPad to organise emails, notes, messages, your calendar and social networks and also how to keep your iPad safe and secure. You will learn to use the iPad camera effectively and be able to edit your photos and notes.


Use Your Own iPad - Intermediate

This course follows on from the 'Beginners' course or, if you already have experience of using your iPad, then this course is for you. You will learn how to use social network apps; shop online; edit and share images, photos and screen shots; write, edit and save documents; synchronise your iPad to your computer, and use cloud storage to access your pc documents and pictures with your iPad.


Mail Merge and Labels

This provides you with an introduction to using Mail Merge in Word, and templates, to create letters, envelopes and labels to send to both multiple and single recipients.


Introduction to Social Media

This course aims to introduce you to and develop your understanding and usage of, social media, including Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and Pinterest, amongst others.
