English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Welcome to our programme of courses that offer help with your English skills if you are living in the UK but do not have English as your first language. At ACRES we offer the following:
- friendly classes
- experienced and helpful tutors
- classes for everyone:
* Entry Level 1 (Beginners)
* Entry Level 2
* Entry Level 3
* Level 1
* Level 2 (Advanced)
What does studying English involve?
You will study either speaking/listening, reading or writing. ESOL helps students with everyday life, work or study. All courses are funded by the UK government and therefore you must come to classes every week and finishing the course. Classes can only run if there are enough students.
Are there exams?
There are exams on some of the courses but please don't worry, you will be prepared!
Can I do ESOL classes?
ESOL courses are open to all EU adults and non-EU adults with some conditions. Please contact the ACRES Office for more details.
What can I do afterwards?
You can continue learning English at the next level or, for more advanced students, move on to GCSE English. ACRES can also help tell you about other courses that may be useful or of interest.
How can I join an ESOL class?
If you are new to learning English with ACRES, and in order to make sure that you are on the right level course, you will need to speak to one of our tutors before starting.
Please contact us on 01825 761820 and speak to an advisor to help with this.
