Examination courses

Welcome to our accredited courses for autumn 2015. We've got some new ones, in addition to our ever-popular GCSEs, with these being offered at various times, days and locations.

If you are interested in enrolling on a GCSE and are new to studying this subject with ACRES, you will need to have a pre-course chat with a tutor to ensure you are on the correct level course for you. Please contact us on 01825 761820 and speak to one of our advisors who will be happy to help arrange this.

Our longer courses, such as the GCSEs, are very intensive, so we don't normally recommend that you enrol on more than one at a time.

The following courses are on offer with ACRES this autumn:

The Award in Education and Training (an initial adult learning teaching qualification)

Whatever your area of expertise, it could be that you are interested in passing on your knowledge through teaching or training adults. The Award in Education and Training offers an introduction to core teaching skills and provides an ideal foundation for progressing into teaching or training. Who knows, when you're qualified, you might want to come and join the ACRES' team.

English GCSE

This course is for students who have not achieved a level 2 (GCSE grade 'C' or equivalent) English qualification, or if you wish to improve your grade. It is suitable as a next step from our Functional English courses. If you've not already got a 'C' grade or above in this qualification, this course is likely to be FREE!

Maths GCSE

You will develop your mathematical skills leading to the successful completion of the GCSE Mathematics exams to be held in June 2016. If you've not already got a 'C' grade or above in this qualification, this course is likely to be FREE! We are offering this course in Wadhurst as an addition to our previous programme.

Award in Mentoring at Level 1 - NEW!

This course aims to equip you, if you wish to mentor others, in a professional or voluntary capacity, by giving you an understanding of what the role of mentor entails and teaching you to implement the skills effectively.

Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work - NEW!

If someone was taken ill in your work environment, would you know what to do? If not, then come on an intensive one day course and learn the basics of how to cope in an emergency. You never know, you may save a life.
