Course overview
A great introduction to the core skills of printmaking.
Explore line, texture and colour using a range of printmaking techniques from mono printing to relief printing. You will create unique, one-off prints, get creative and discover the methods that you enjoy.
Where Uckfield College, Downsview Crescent, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 3DJ.

Wednesday, 6:30pm - 8:30pm from 28th September 2022 until 30th November 2022 for 8 weeks.
No classes 26th October (Half Term) 2nd November
Cost
The full fee is £134.00.
The concessionary fee is £78.00.
What you already need to know
Suitable for complete beginners or those with a little experience.
What you will learn
- How to create a monoprint and relief print
- To understand the composition of an image
- To use printmaking tools to prepare and develop printing plates.
- To print one-off editions of handmade prints.
- To understand the reduction process when using several colours
How you will learn it
- Tutor demonstrations
- Group and individual tuition
- Practical application
- Group discussion, and exploration of source material and the work of other artists.
- Sharing work and ideas via the use of Padlet
Bring to the first session
- Drawn or photographic images either found or created by yourself (any topic or subject)
- An apron (if required)
- Your own supply of latex gloves (if required)
- 2B pencil
- The course fee includes inks, foam boards, vinyl, cartridge paper and other materials.
Please do not purchase any materials or items until you know that your course will run to avoid unnecessary costs. Course decisions are typically made a week before the course start date.
Extra study or practice
You may wish to spend time at home practising skills and techniques between classes.
