Course overview
In this 2 hour workshop, Ann will introduce you to the veil as an element to add movement and drama to your belly dancing. You will learn how the veil suits ample flowing movements to airy music whilst working on a spring-themed routine. As always, this will be an opportunity to step out of daily life routines and experience something a little different, fun-filled, low-impact and beneficial.

Cost
The full fee is £25.00.
What you already need to know
Whether you've never done belly dancing before or are already an expert, this workshop and routine are suitable for all abilities.
- A degree of mobility is required.
- This course is not suitable for those who are pregnant.
- Students are expected to understand and work within their personal movement range, being able to use adjustment for any limitations they may have.
To be able to participate in this course, all students are required to complete and return a pre-course health questionnaire before the first session.
Please do this in advance or arrive at 9.45 so forms can be completed before the start of the session, ready to start at 10 am.
What you will learn
Get those hips swinging!
During this workshop, you will:
- Be introduced to the ancient art of belly dancing with a veil
- Explore how to posture, shimmy and move to the music.
- Learn how to hold the veil and work with it to add drama to your movements
- Learn how to warm up and cool down safely.
- Practise moves that will aid flexibility and build core strength.
- Gain skills that you can use in your own fitness routines to improve posture, balance and coordination.
- Have a lot of fun!
How you will learn it
Ann will welcome you and begin with a warm-up to ease you into the class. She will then build your confidence, taking you through basic moves and techniques before moving on to the fun routine work. The workshop will end with a relaxing cooldown. Ann will demonstrate each move to the group and individually, and you will get to practise each move before consolidating your newly required belly dancing skills by shimmying through the spring-themed routine.
Bring to the first session
Just comfy clothes to dance in (no jeans please) .
Ann will provide you will a veil.
