Poem written by Maureen Ward, Keeping Active Gently Student

At Tuesday mornings at Ridgewood Village Hall
Una is waiting to greet us all
A group of ladies, plus one gent
All young at heart and quite content

Aiming to try to keep fit and trim
Instead of going to the gym
So at 9.45 dead on the dot
We all go off to have a trot

A welcome from the Board of ACRES

A warm welcome to the Adult College for Rural East Sussex's programme of courses for 2011/2012.

The new brochure is full of exciting and stimulating quality courses, this year we introduce some new ones alongside the established programme, all designed to inspire you to achieve your chosen goal. So if you're new to adult learning or coming back for another course we are sure you'll find it here.

We really have something for everyone this year, whether you want to take up a new interest for personal or professional development or gain a nationally recognised qualificaiton. Courses are open to adults aged over 19. In 2009 ACRES was awarded the Matrix Standard in recognition of the high quality of impartial information and advice we offer to students.

For those who perhaps can't commit to a daytime or evening course we have our Weekend Workshops that we offer at various venues and times throughout the year. These though prove very popular so make sure you book well in advance.

We know for some students the biggest barrier to joining an adult learning course is the cost. There are ways that ACRES may be able to help you: if you are eligible you may be able to pay reduced fees; you can pay by instalments if the course fee is over £80 and we also have a learner hardship fund you can apply to for funding. See the 'General Information' section within the prospectus, click on 'Student Support' on the website or ring 01825 761820 for more information.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to challenge yourself and change your life, enrol today and discover a new you.
